Waters Edge Celebrates All Things French in Grand Style
Sri Lanka’s culinary hub Waters Edge recently celebrated all things French with the “Beaujolais Nouveau”, French wine festival held at the Grand Lawn. The festival which was open to the public featured the finest French wine flown down via SimplyFly helicopter and carried by French Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jean-Marin Schuh and Madam Schuh, and the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Mark Prothero. Entertainment at the event was courtesy of Slipping Chairs and French Connextion who serenaded the multitude of crowds gathered to celebrate one of the largest festivals in the world.
Beaujolais was the brainchild of General Manager at Waters Edge Rohan Fernandopulle who sees this event gaining much popularity over the years. “The response for the first festival was phenomenal and we look forward to making this event bigger and better as the years go by.”
Attended by more than 1,000 guests the event was a huge success with HSBC Advance and Signature Credit Card holders also receiving a 15% discount on food and beverages. Guests enjoyed a variety of French cuisine, the finest Beaujolais, and danced the night away.
The event which was held for the first time in Sri Lanka in such a grand scale was in partnership with HSBC Advance and Signature Credit Cards, Iconic Galaxy, Response Marketing (Creative Partner), Emerging Media (Outdoor Advertising Partner), Lite FM (Radio Partner), Mod’Art (Fashion Partner), Aeventive (Décor Partner), Jeeva Entertainment (Sounds and Lighting Solutions Partner), and Capture Eye (Official Photographer).
