HNB Gami Pubuduwa Avurudu Pola 2017 to showcase best rural products at BMICH from 8th to 9th of April
The annual Avurudu Pola 2017, organized by the Gami Pubuduwa micro finance programme of Hatton National Bank (HNB) will be held at BMICH on 8th and 9th of April, creating new sales and market opportunities for Sri Lankan micro entrepreneurs.
Turning a new leaf this year, HNB will bring thousands of Gami Pubuduwa entrepreneurs and their products to one place, rather than organizing several regional events concurrently. Over hundred stalls will be set up at each trade fair, dedicated to a wide range of products such as vegetables and fruits, Ayurvedic products, handcrafts, electronic appliances, brass products etc. HNB Avurudu Pola goes beyond the traditional pola or market concept as HNB actively engages in the process of creating new opportunities for these entrepreneurs in order to encourage them and offer them sustainable long term benefits.
The period leading up to the Sinhala and Hindu New Year has been chosen for this initiative in order to provide micro entrepreneurs an opportunity to enjoy financial strength and stability and enable them to celebrate the dawn of the New Year in style.
Commenting on the success of the annual Avurudu Pola, Mr. Jude Fernando, Deputy General Manager, SME of Hatton National Bank said, “Over the last two decades, Gami Pubuduwa has empowered a large number of micro entrepreneurs of the country. Through it, we have financially uplifted their lives as well as provided strength and knowledge for them to reach the next level of their business. Apart from offering financial support, Gami Pubuduwa opens new market opportunities for them and the annual Avurudu Pola is one such platform under our iconic micro finance programme. This year, HNB Gami Pubuduwa beneficiaries from every corner of the country will be gathered at the BMICH with their products. I believe people will witness the excellence of their products at this year’s edition,”
