Dahua Technology, a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products headquartered in Hangzhou, China signed a strategic agreement with The Debug Group of Companies to license High Definition Composite Video Interface (HDCVI) technology where Debug is licensed to market/sell high-definition analog video solutions utilising HDCVI technology.

HDCVI  is a coaxial-cable HD video transmission standard which is developed in-house and was firstly created around the world by Dahua. This Technology presents High Definition Composite Video Interface (HDCVI) technology to the market. HDCVI, Dahua’s in-house technology, is an over-coaxial-cable analog HD video transmission standard, allowing long-distance HD transmission at a lower cost to meet the requirements for a complex and large installation. The technology has realised innovative breakthrough on HD video losses, real time, long-distance transmission, compatible audio and two-way data, which has a broad market application prospect.

Analog systems, based on coaxial cabling, still dominate today’s video surveillance market — The demand for high definition from end-users is undoubtedly increasing; however, the need to change the cabling for a HD system can result in higher operational costs. With no new cabling or IP hassle required, HDCVI is one option for upgrading existing systems from standard definition to high definition and offering longer transmission via coaxial cable and lower total cost.

“By upgrading analog cameras and video recorders to HDCVI at sites where coax has already been pulled, customers can now enjoy all the benefits of a high-definition video with a very modest investment. HDCVI technology enables HD video transmission, allowing reliable long-distance HD transmission (500 meters via 3C2V/700 meters via 5C2V) and provides high definition quality and strong anti-interference ability at lower cost, while complex deployment is applicable.

. The HDCVI solution can not only render smooth HD transmission during long-distance transmissions, but is also free from IP hassles and allows for simple installation; it also features a no-latency capability for real-time performance. With no need for compression processing to maintain its original video quality, it is able to present good quality vivid images. In comparison with other analog systems, HDCVI has an advantage on the transmission distance front, as it can transmit 500m by using 75-3 cable for general transmission media and features a low signal distortion rate.

The HDCVI solution incorporates both cameras and DVRs .HDCVI composites video, audio, and control signals together and then transmits them over one coaxial cable, simplifying installation.

The Dahua HDCVI chipset comprising of a transmitting chip (TX) and receiving chip (RX),  are designed for front-end HDCV cameras and DVRs, respectively. These chips can also be applied to fiber optics transceivers, distributors, and matrices as well. As the HDCVI technology inventor and patent owner, Dahua  has implemented all-around intellectual property protection to the innovations of HDCVI technical standard, submitted totally around 20 patent applications of related inventions for HDCVI technical standard, and acquired a number of invention patent authorisation in China with synchronised implementation of global patent protection. Besides, related trademark sign of HDCVI technology has been under official exclusive protection in main target markets around the world.

“We are very excited to market Dahua HDCVI products within our portfolio” stated Mr Ranuka Malith Ekanayake, Product Manager at Debug Group of Companies. “We are convinced that HDCVI will be the best choice for easy installation of HD or Full HD solutions. Tribrid systems can make it easier for installers to adopt the latest technology in existing analogue systems without re-cabling or other costs to have Full HD implemented. As for end-users, they will get a lot of benefits of HDCVI including much more detailed images and all this at an affordable price similar to analogue systems he said.

In a word, HDCVI not only provides a good solution that offers megapixel image quality over long-distance transmission, but also ease of installation.

The Debug Group of Companies is the Sole Distributor in Sri Lanka for Dahua Technology a world-leading and advanced video surveillance solution provider. As the leading  surveillance distributor, Debug strives to bring innovative products to the market and has proven it’s recognition from technology breakthrough standpoint.”
