For the first time Women’s Mini Football at the Racecourse
Women’s Mini football Tournament 2016 is organized by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka, and will be held on 9th July, 2016 from 9am to 5pm at the Racecourse International Rugby Grounds Colombo 07. The tournament will be conducted as a 5 Vs 5 format with teams participating at Division I and Division II levels.
Two teams from SL Army, SL Navy, SL Air Force, one team from SL Police and Polgahawela United will participate in Division I level matches for a total of 23 games. A total of 16 teams will participate in Division II for a total of 37 matches.
In both Divisions, the 1st rounds will be played on league basis and 2nd round will be based on knockout basis. Each game will be played for a total of 15 minutes with a 1 minute break in-between.
This event is organized by FFSL with the intent of giving more opportunities to women’s football and in the interim scout out talented players for upcoming SAFF tournament. This will also be a great opportunity for Sri Lanka Football fans to witness and experience football at a different level.
