Super 8 stage week 1- Solid SC demolish Navy SC in 5-0 goal fest.

The first match week of the Super 8 stage of the DCL has come to an end. In first place is Solid SC having thrashed Navy SC 5-0, T. D. Wijetunge, M. G. S. Prabodh and O. I. Abumer all managed to get a goal each. In the 63rd minute O. I. Abumer was forced off with injury, his replacement S. Sajeewan scoring a brace in the last 5 minutes off the game. In second is Blue SC having beaten Renown SC 2-0, the goals coming from Mohamed Farzeen and E. B. Channa. In third and fourth are Airforce SC and Army SC level on points having played against each other with neither able to strike the final blow in an evenly matched encounter it ended 2 a piece with goals coming from Sajith Kumara and H. D. M. De Silva for Army SC and Kavindu Ishan and Kalum Perera for Airforce SC, Army SC were reduced to 10 men when Dilan Udayanga was given his marching orders after receiving a second yellow card for dissent however they managed to hold out Airforce SC to a draw. In fifth and sixth place are Colombo FC and New Youngs SC respectively, level on points having faced each other in a very attacking, despite being a game of many chances neither team was able to produce a finishing touch and the game ended in a nil-nil draw. Making up the bottom of the table are Renown SC and Navy SC in seventh and eighth respectively, both teams unable to take away any points from their opening game are both level with zero points, Renown SC being on top due to a better goal difference.
