Engineering Nexus’ Fourth Meetup: Open Source and Beyond Building Smarter QE Platforms
The fourth edition of “Engineering Nexus” is set to take place on 26 March 2019 at the Sysco LABS Engineering Center. This initiative, which was kick-started with the hope of bringing the local tech industry together to share knowledge and develop Sri Lanka’s engineering practice, focuses on a different area of engineering at each Nexus.
This time around, the meetup will revolve around harnessing open source technologies to surpass standard QE practices and build more innovative, effective and cost-efficient platforms. There will be three speakers from different firms in the local IT industry who specialize in varying technical areas, discussing topics under this collective theme.
Dinusha Ramanayake – Associate QA Manager from LSEG Technology – will discuss the use of domain specific test objects for test automation frameworks under the topic “Domain Specific Test Framework on TestNG for Test Automation”, covering the DSO Concept, the challenges that are thereby overcome, and Functional and FT Support.
The second speaker is Principal Engineer from Pearson, Buddhika Senanayake who will talk about “Improving QE Efficiency Through Innovation”, discussing the business problems and solutions along with the benefits of developing internal tools.
The final discussion will be carried out by Kishan Navaratne – Senior QE Lead at Sysco LABS – under the topic “Build Your Own MAD Lab” which will take the audience through how one can set up a Mobile Automation Device (MAD) Lab to provision iOS and Android devices, and a cost benefit Analysis of doing so.
Since its inception one year ago, Engineering Nexus has hosted three successful events covering themes such as engineering productivity, the struggle organizations face in becoming agile, and managing mission critical systems.
Participation is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending can register at bit.ly/EngNexOS19.
