SLIM Renews Partnership with Sadaharitha Plantations LTD
For a second batch in Preliminary Certificate in Marketing
The National Body of Marketing in Sri Lanka, SLIM, renewed their partnership with Sadaharitha Plantations LTD to prepare a second batch of students to gain professional marketing qualifications. The renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) furthers the enrollment of 45 Sadaharitha Plantations staff personnel for a second batch of the Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (PCM) course offered by SLIM. This official partnership was initiated with the intention of providing a professional marketing qualification to the staff members of Sadaharitha to enhance the professional growth of its sales force.
The Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (PCM) is a foundation qualification in marketing that is designed for working and aspiring marketing and sales personnel. Educating budding marketers on the basic and fundamental theories of marketing with business world examples is the core object of SLIM PCM. Modules such as marketing mix, products, pricing, distribution, marketing communication, promotions, marketing concepts, marketing environment, consumer behavior, marketing research, segmentation, targeting and positioning (STP), product planning and development, as well as Marketing vs. Sales are included in the three-month program. Tailor-made to match the requirements of the company, the program is delivered with industry examples by a prominent panel of lecturers. The programme generates an excellent opportunity for the Sadaharitha sales force to enhance and improve their skills and knowledge with a solid foundation in marketing from SLIM.
Qualifying in the Preliminary Certificate in Marketing will open new vistas in the education path of the Sadaharitha marketing and sales staff. Selected candidates from the first batch of the PCM from Sadaharitha Plantations were given the opportunity to follow the National Diploma in Sales Management (NDSM) program this year. The Preliminary Certificate in Marketing is a stepping stone for the staff to continue their professional education and climb the corporate ladder.
