CIPM Wins Prestigious SLIM Brand Excellence Award for Education Sector
CIPM Sri Lanka – the Nation’s leader in human resource management won the prestigious SLIM Merit Award for Brand Excellence in the education sector at the 18th SLIM (Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing) Brand Excellence Awards Ceremony held on 29th November 2019 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo. The Award was presented to CIPM as the winner of the SME Local Brand of the Year 2019. CIPM was the only education institute to have won an award this year. The theme of this year’s ceremony was “Catapult Your Brand Beyond”. The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is the apex body for Sri Lankan Marketers. It was founded in 1970 and subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1980, recognizing it as the National Body for Marketing.
“We are delighted to have won this prestigious merit award at the SLIM Brand Excellence Award this year which goes to show how successfully and strongly we have conceptualized and publicized our CIPM brand as the Nation’s leader in human resource management. Our Brand Promise has been recognized by none other than SLIM which is the Nation’s premier professional marketing institute” said Dhammika Fernando-President, CIPM Sri Lanka.
“This recognition further strengthens our resolve to continue to take the CIPM brand to the four corners of the island in order to promulgate the importance of human resource management as a dynamic, fulfilling and interesting career” he added.
CIPM was recently conferred with the prestigious ‘Charter’ status, which was publicized amongst the professional members, companies, and students through a well coordinated integrated marketing communications campaign.
CIPM was founded in 1959 – incorporated by Parliamentary Act No. 24 of 1976, amended by Act No. 31 of 2018. CIPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Human Resource Management and to the World Federation of People Management Associations. CIPM, being a professional institute is also a constituent member of the Organization of Professional Associations [OPA] Sri Lanka. Currently, CIPM comprises of over 1600 Professional Members who serve in both public and private organizations. It was elevated to Chartered Status by the Parliament of Sri Lanka on the 28th of September 2018 by amending the original Act of establishment.
