Surado Campus Named Asia’s Best Vocational Institute at Asia Awards 2021 for Exceptional Performance During Challenging 20/21 Year
Surado Campus of Business Management – one of Sri Lanka’s foremost privately-led vocational training institutions for local and foreign employment – was recognized as Asia’s Best Vocational Institute at the Asia Awards 2021. Chairman Rachitha Buddhika was felicitated by the global awarding body for his outstanding leadership that resulted in Surado’s history-making win, while Director Disani Adihetti was also recognized as one of Asia’s Exceptional Women of the Year. The awards reflect Surado’s global recognition as a job-training bank with a growing resource pool, and its commitment to maintain its benchmark during an unprecedented and challenging year.
“Surado is truly honored by this recognition at the Asia Awards 2021,” stated Chairman Rachitha Buddika. “Our foresight to introduce caregiving education at our campus by identifying growing global job market trends enabled us to be in an advantageous position. We were able to not only create long-lasting job opportunities in caregiving during a time of layoffs, but also to meet the demand for qualified talent in an extremely niche sector. We are proud of bringing Sri Lanka glory on a global scale and are encouraged to continue on our journey towards excellence with this recognition.”
As the pioneer Campus to provide NVQ qualifications for the aged and disability caregivers in Sri Lanka, Surado is a leading enabler of foreign employment opportunities based on a strong educational foundation and internationally accepted qualifications, including one of the best Japanese language courses in Sri Lanka. During the award-winning year of operation, Surado was able to leverage their expertise, stepping up to address the exponentially rising demand across the world for caregivers during the pandemic, a qualification that is also considered an advantage for permanent residency applications in most countries.
“Our founding vision was to first and foremost identify skill gaps and map future talent needs on a global level to create a highly compatible talent pool locally,” elaborated Director Disani Adihetti. “Organically our institute was an early enabler of equality across the talented workforce we created. Our training and learning was curated to produce qualified Sri Lankans in a competitive employment landscape – especially young girls and women. So it gives me great joy to be recognized as one of Asia’s Exceptional Women of Excellence for my contribution to Surado’s success as well as the successful careers of thousands of Sri Lankan women around the world.”
Presented with the National Shrama Abhimani Award in 2019 for their corporate social contribution in creating unparalleled job opportunities for Sri Lankans both locally and globally, Surado Campus is registered under the Private Health Services Regulatory Council of Sri Lanka and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka, with globally accepted UK, US, Australian and Malaysian qualifications in caregiving. Surado qualified caregivers have gained highly lucrative job opportunities in countries such as Canada, France, Denmark, Japan, Australia, Germany, Italy and many other nations with growing ageing populations.
