ComBank remittance customers to win cash prizes via ‘Double Chance’ promo
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon is revving up for the festive season with the launch of ‘Double Chance,’ a promotion that will offer 24 of its remittance customers the opportunity to double the amount they receive, up to a maximum of Rs 50,000 each.
Every week between 1st November and 31st December, three lucky Commercial Bank remittance customers will stand a chance to win these cash prizes, from the total of Rs 1.2 million allocated for the Double Chance promotion, the Bank said.
Recipients of money via ‘ComBank RemitPlus’– the remittance service of the Bank – and those who receive remittances directly to a Commercial Bank Account or Remittance Account during the promotion period and collect the remitted cash over the counter from a branch close to them will be eligible to enter the ‘Double Chance’ draw.
Commercial Bank launched the promotion in appreciation of customer loyalty, to encourage direct remittances to the Bank, and to popularise the benefits of using the Bank’s ‘RemitPlus’ app and Remittance Card. The cash prizes due to the lucky winners of the weekly draws will be credited to their Commercial Bank accounts on the same day of the draw. Winners with no Commercial Bank account will be instructed to open an account with the Bank to which the prize money will be credited immediately.
The Bank said it will publish details of winners on its social media platforms as well as the Bank’s ‘RemitPlus’ App.
Remit Plus is the instant money transfer service of Commercial Bank which enables Sri Lankan expatriates to make instant money transfers from many countries around the world. A sophisticated, low cost, real time, online money transfer facility, Remit Plus can be accessed by remitters through a network of agents. The Bank’s business partners for remittances in more than 130 countries provide remittance services through which the amount will be credited to relevant Commercial Bank accounts instantly at any time of the day, any day of the year.
In 2019, the Bank launched ‘ComBank RemitPlus’ – a remittance app to enable those who use the Bank’s remittance services to conveniently access remittance-related information and services. The mobile app which could be downloaded for both iOS and Android operating systems serves as an information app and connects both the remitter and sender for interactions about the tracking of remittance. No joining fee or annual fee is levied on the usage of this app.
Regardless of whether or not remittance customers get lucky at the ‘Double Chance’ draws, everyone who receives direct remittances via Commercial Bank will enjoy an additional Rs 2 on the conversion of every United States Dollar or the equivalent in the currency they receive, the Bank said.
