Holcim organizes a free health camp for over 400 Galle community members

On the 21st of February Holcim Lanka together with the Lions club of Galle Metropolitan organized a free health camp catering to over 400 community members surrounding the Galle cement factory. The examinations consisted of physical examinations, eye test, dental services paired with FOC medicine and spectacles.

Commenting at the camp Dr. LakshmanWeerasena “many of us don’t understand that prevention is always better than cure! I have had experience with over 500 health camps conducted in various parts of the country, a lot of Sevier illnesses have being cured due to early detection. Hence I fully support Holcim Lanka for encouraging health checks in the surrounding communities promoting health and well-being of the people”

Ms. DharshaniLahandapura, CSR Manager of Holcim Lanka stated “people is the base of our value pyramid whether its Holcim employees, customers or surrounding communities. Every year we incorporate our communities’ health and well-being into our CSR calendar as we understand the importance of such facilities in rural zones we operate in”
