Sanasa National Programme on “Let’s cut expenses and increase income” was launched to develop 5,000 villages
A national programme has been launched as per a concept of Sanasa Movement’s founder Dr. P.A. Kiriwandeniya in order to develop 5,000 villages. The district level opening ceremony of this programme titled “”Let’s cut expenses and increase income” (Weya Adu Karamu – Aya Wedi Karamu) was held at the auditorium of Ibbagamuwa Maha Vidyalaya in Kurunegala while Sanasa members from 16 others districts joined the programme online. Over 700 members of Sanasa attended this event representing over 100 Sanasa societies in Kurunegala District. The need of a broader development programme from grass root level to the national level which has the support of all Sanasa societies was discussed primarily, while Sanasa Life Insurance, Sanasa General Insurance Company, Sanasa Campus, SANASA International Pvt Ltd and Sanasa General Assembly play a key role in implementing this project.
“If we are to overcome the current crisis situation, we shouldn’t wait for relief from the government. Everyone from grass root level to national level should come together for this. We are implementing the “Let’s cut expenses and increase income” programme to popularize this ideology. There’s much we can do together and personally. The concept of Sanasa that is being implemented across the world successfully is taking decisions together,” Dr. P. A. Kiriwandeniya said. Ibbagamuwa Divisional Secretary Mrs. Wasantha Warnakulasuriya, North-western Agricultural Director Mr. Sisira Kumara, Gokarella Police OIC Mr. G. L. M. Thilak Bandara Ganegoda, Superintendent of Police Chandrasena Bandara, Sanasa life insurance Chairman retired IGP Dr. Jayantha Wickramaratne and others were present on this occasion.
