CIPM DPHRM Certificates Awarded to Over 340 Students
CIPM Sri Lanka – the Nation’s leader in human resource management, recently awarded diploma certificates to over 340 students who completed the Diploma in Professional Human Resource Management (DPHRM) at an awards ceremony held at the CIPM Auditorium. Ken Vijayakumar – President of CIPM Sri Lanka and Kanishka Weeramunda – Founder of Pay Media (Pvt) Ltd, were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Other CIPM dignitaries participating in the ceremony included Immediate Past President – Jayantha Amerasinghe, Vice President – Priyantha Ranasinghe, Hony. Secretary – Priyankara Senevirathne, Hony. Treasurer – Col. Saman Jayawickrama, Chief Executive Officer – UAC Obeyesekere, Director Professional and Academic Affairs G. Weerathunga, Director Operations Himali Dasanayeke, senior officers of CIPM, and parents and well-wishers.
Congratulating the awardees, Ken Vijayakumar – President of CIPM Sri Lanka, said, “People managers with a keen understanding of business needs and goals are gaining a firm foothold in the corporate management sphere. Today’s successful DPHRM diplomates have gained a wealth of knowledge in people management techniques which will help them to be exemplary and well-sort out resources within their respective organizations. We wish you well in your endeavor to take your careers to the next level in the people management domain,”.
DPHRM is the Diploma stage of the journey toward the coveted internationally recognized Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management (CQHRM). The well-structured programme includes a blend of subjects covering a range of competencies which will transform the students to a higher stage of learning. Guest of Honour Kanishka Weeramunda confidently stated that although he is from an IT background, he pursued an MSc in Human Resource Management as he understood the importance of managing people at work for the business’s success.
Proposing the vote of thanks, the Director of Professional and Academic Affairs G. Weerathunga stated that as a professional organization, CIPM has an obligation to develop and mould a strong professional community and requested graduates to be effective business leaders and change agents for their organizations and the country.
The award for the Best Performer of the DPHRM Course was presented to Ms. Chathuri Gunesekara by the President of CIPM – Ken Vijayakumar, and the Guest of Honour, CEO of Paymedia Kannishka Weeramunda.
