Another Successful phase of the national program “vaya aḍu karamu – aya vaḍi karamu” (Let’s reduce costs – increase Income) was completed by Sanasa.

The founder of the Sanasa movement, Dr. P.A. Kirivandeniya, and their team hosted another phase of a remarkable event, “Let’s reduce costs – increase income” According to the concept of Dr. Kirivandeniya, the awareness program of the income and expenditures was held with the participation of senior officials of the Sanasa Group at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo. This national program was launched under the theme “Let’s reduce costs – increase income” to develop 5000 villages on the island. Dhammika Muthugala, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, was also present for this occasion, Dr. P.A. Kirivandeniya, the founder of the Sanasa Movement, Chairman of Sanasa Life Insurance Company, retired Inspector General of Police Dr. Jayantha Wickramaratne and a large number of senior officials of Sanasa Group also participated in this full-day workshop event.

Sanasa business was created as a cooperative business through the strength of the Sri Lankan rural people, and the Sanasa business has marked many special milestones in the local cooperative business industry. Born with the people and growing with them, Dr. P.A. Kirivandeniya has initiated a national movement, how should we as a person, as an institution, and as a whole country contribute to overcoming this crisis that has been created through the experiences there?

For that, everyone from the village level to the national level must work together for this. The purpose of this workshop is to enforce the Sanasa team to popularize the ideology. There are many things that we all can do individually and what we can do together as a group. It is very important to have a proper understanding of these things and act accordingly. The concept of cooperatives that are successfully operating around the world is to work together. If we want to win as a country, there is no option but to stand up together. The youth have a huge role to play in carrying forward these tasks strongly. Therefore, I request young people to fully understand the role you have to play at this moment and engage in work.”

The first district national program was held for two days at the Ibbagamuwa Maha Vidyalaya auditorium in Kurunegala district, marking the inauguration of the implementation of this survey at the district level, for which Sanasa Samiti members of 16 districts were connected live through online technology. The second program was implemented recently focusing on the Kalutara district, and the next program is planned to be launched in the Matara district. In this way, by visiting one district every month and taking this program to every district of the island, the primary objective is to bring a change in attitude among Sanasa members and the youth community in general.
