Kia redefines space with launch of all-new Grand Carnival MPV in Sri Lanka
A new definition of space will soon be on Sri Lanka’s roads with the entry of the all-new Kia Grand Carnival Multi-purpose Vehicle (MPV) which was unveiled at a colourful outdoor event at the Independence Arcade recently.
Designed to comfortably seat seven people with the use of a combination of stand-up and pop-up sinking seats, the Kia Grand Carnival unites smart technology, intelligent design and sleek, sporty aerodynamic styling in a vehicle that delivers practical value with outstanding road presence. A nine-seater version is expected in Sri Lanka in December.
Powered by Kia’s R 2.2 CRDi Turbo Diesel engine used in its legendary Sorento SUV, and automatic 6-speed tiptronic transmission, the Grand Carnival is longer and wider than the Sorento, and has the most leg room in its class, making it an ideal vehicle for the hospitality and travel industries, as well as the perfect family vehicle, Kia’s sole distributor in Sri Lanka Kia Motors (Lanka) said.
“The Grand Carnival is the result of superior design and truly smart features combining with a deep understanding of practical driving needs. Maximum luxury goes hand in hand with a respect for economy in a unique balance of the exceptional and the everyday. The Grand Carnival is absolute proof that a car with great power and presence can also possess a superbly sleek and sporty profile,” said Mr Rodney Mason, Director KIA Motors (Lanka) Ltd.
Extending interior space beyond expectation, the vehicle’s interior design provides an abundance of space that is key to creating an interior ambience that is truly relaxing. The cabin of the Grand Carnival is designed to achieve the ultimate realisation of maximised space for the driver’s and occupants’ convenience and pleasure.
The all-new Kia Grand Carnival is fitted with anti-pollution seats which are easy to maintain, an automatic second row sliding door and an optional smart power tailgate that when activated opens on the arrival of owner.
A host of other options including dual sun roof, leather seats, dual fully automatic climate control air conditioning, power driver and power passenger seats and front side curtain airbags with speed-sensitive door locks enable extensive personalisation.
Priced at Rs 8 million upwards, the Kia Grand Carnival is backed by the Kia warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometres, making it one of the most attractive options in Sri Lanka’s MPV market.
The launch of the Kia Grand Carnival in Sri Lanka is the second major event for Kia Motors (Lanka) this year. On 1st April 2015, the company unveiled the all-new 2016 Kia Sorento, an SUV that has become the vehicle of choice of many Sri Lankan sports celebrities and thousands of other motoring enthusiasts.
