Atlas wins ‘CSR Brand of the Year’ Bronze award at SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2020

Atlas SipSavi recognized as one of the most impactful CSR programmes in the nation

Colombo – Atlas Axillia, Sri Lanka’s largest and most reputed manufacturer and marketer of stationery and school supplies, walked away with the prestigious ‘CSR Brand of the Year – Bronze’ award for the Atlas SipSavi programme at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2020 held on 22nd January 2021.

Through a stringent evaluation conducted by a panel of leading marketing professionals in the country, the Atlas SipSavi Programme was identified as a meaningful CSR initiative that has created equal learning opportunities for over 11,200 children directly within the year 2019. Since its inception, Atlas SipSavi has been able to make significant impact across the nation by continuously supporting thousands of underprivileged children facing financial challenges sustain their education.

Commenting on the prestigious award,Managing Director of Atlas Axillia Co., Asitha Samaraweera said, “The children of Sri Lanka will always be the centre in everything we do here at Atlas, and therefore our CSR efforts have and always will focus on their wellbeing. Receiving the title ‘CSR Brand of the Year’ from SLIM for the SipSavi programme will not only set the benchmark for Atlas in terms of our brand’s performance, but it will also affirm the brand’s efforts in serving the country and its children. It is an absolute honour to receive this award from SLIM, the national marketing institute of Sri Lanka.”

The Atlas SipSavi programme was launched to provide equal access to education, learning materials and better learning environments to the most vulnerable children who are at risk of dropping out of school due to dire economic situations. Atlas SipSavi has enabled financial assistance for underprivileged students in terms of scholarships, numerous donations of school stationery and school infrastructure development, enabling them to continue their education.

Kaushali Kusumapala, Head of Marketing, Atlas Axillia Co. said, “Even during a challenging year like 2020, we had numerous initiatives launched under Atlas SipSavi programme to help uplift the nation and its future leaders. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the partners of Atlas SipSavi for facilitating our efforts to support truly deserving children.”

The SLIM Brand Excellence Awards is the only national level event that honours outstanding efforts of marketers and is considered an industry recognition of the motivation, dedication and hard work demonstrated by marketers towards making brand champions.
