Baby Cheramy empowers new parents in Matara District with knowledge on nutrition and parenting amidst current challenges facing the nation
Baby Cheramy, the leading and most loved baby care brand in Sri Lanka, successfully completed its parental clinic program in Matara District from 15th– 19th August 2022, co vering Kotapola, Urubokka, Morawaka, Kakenadura, Weligama, Welipitiya, Hakmana and Kirinda. The Parental Clinics educate parents on baby care, Early Childcare Development and Inclusive Parenting, providing valuable knowledge about how to face the current nutritional challenges to ensure ideal nutrition for the effective physical, mental, and behavioural development in children.
At the end of the parental clinic, mothers were gifted with a valuable Baby Cheramy gift pack, a nutritional breakfast seal pack and fresh milk packs, and a pregnancy and babycare booklet approved by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The Matara Parental Clinic was addressed by an expert resource panel with experienced professionals in Maternal and Baby care. Maternal and Child Healthcare consultant, Shyamalee Pathirage, addressed the audience on Baby care and Early Childcare Development. A musical therapy session was arranged by Jagath Watawala (former Music Director at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation) and Swarna Watawala (Aesthetics Teaching Instructor at Elpitiya Zonal Education Office). The programme was conducted in collaboration with Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Health and Early Child Care Development Authority. MOH doctors also addressed parents in some sessions. At the end, valuable feedback was collected from participants through feedback forms.
Themed ‘Daru Patiyata Surakshitha Lowak’, Baby Cheramy aims to conduct 30 such programmes across the island in the Western, Southern and Eastern provinces to spread awareness on inclusive parenting for both mothers and fathers. The first programme took place in Dankotuwa and Baby Cheramy donated a product cabinet to the Children’s Ward of the Dankotuwa Hospital which will be refilled, allowing mothers and mothers-to-be to use or take-home Baby Cheramy products at their convenience.
