ComBank donates computers and furniture to BCI’s new Agri School
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently donated computers and furniture to the newly opened Agri School of the Benedict XVI Catholic Institute (BCI) for Vocational Training in Waradala, Mellawagedara, set up with the objective of encouraging more youth to take up agriculture as a respected and lucrative career path, and to empower those already in the field.
This Agri School was established at a farm owned by the Church and was declared open by His Eminence Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti – President of Italian Bishops Conference and Don Leonardo Di Mauro -President of the Committee of Charitable Intervention and the Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith. Its operations will be managed by the Benedict XVI Catholic Institute of Higher Education. BCI operates three departments, the Department of English, Department of ICT and Department of Professional Studies which offer a variety of study programmes.
