Bayroo Offering Boutique Design Solutions To Medium-Scale Business
Bayroo, a recently established boutique design agency, has made a name for itself with its unique brand of design work that focuses on making world-class marketing communications best practices accessible to medium-scale businesses in Sri Lanka.
The agency is built on the unique nexus of professional background and skillsets of its founders. Dinesh Rajanayagam, Nisayuru Basanayake and Shanjei Malraj Perumal are seasoned marketing communications professionals who head the agency’s Brand Management, Creative and Strategy arms respectively. Having worked in some of Sri Lanka’s most renowned networked agencies, the three founders identified a market gap that needed urgent addressing.
‘From the outset we realized that there was a quality gap in the thinking and execution of marketing communications practiced between Sri Lanka’s large enterprises and its medium scale counterparts. Bayroo’s rigorous focus from our inception is addressing this gap’, said Dinesh Rajanayagam, Director – Social Media and Business Development at Bayroo. ‘Today’s marketplace is highly congested with many brands attempting to engage with all stakeholders at every touch point, whether this touchpoint is traditional media or new media. Large enterprises have the means to do this, but medium-scale businesses need a consistent, visually and emotionally engaging approach. Unfortunately this is mostly absent. It is imperative, then, that they (medium-scale businesses) work smarter within their constraints’, Rajanayagam added.
To achieve this, the agency identified aspects of their clients’ marketing messaging that need urgent rethinking: packaging design and brand-relevant marketing literature (brand guidelines, company profiles, sales docks, annual reports, social media content generation, etc.,), for instance, are areas where medium-scale enterprises have traditionally been underwhelming.
‘Our approach to design is to start at the brand’s core personality. We study the brand’s beginnings, tracing its evolution to the present state and identify its strengths and weaknesses. This allows us to interpret the brand’s personality in creative ways that surprise the client. More importantly, it allows our clients to truly stand out from the crowd – whether on the shelves of modern trade outlets, on traditional and social media, and in the minds of customers’, said Nisayru Basanayke, Creative Director at Bayroo.
At Bayroo we view our work as partnerships with each participant moving towards a singular goal, and the final product bears evidence of this.’ Said Nisayuru Basnayake, and then added ‘ We are a full service agency and offer many general and customized solutions to our clients’. Bayroo has wowed their clients and customers with the great range of services they offer from the Digital work they have done for Oktoberfest to Packaging and Design with a production house sandwiched in the middle, ‘and also Nissa’s brand of art.’ Dinesh Rajanayagam commented.
