COCA-COLA ANDNCRS CONDUCT WORKSHOP IN PARTNERSHIP FOR ROAD SAFETY
Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka joined hands with the National Council for Road Safety (NCRS), to conduct a training workshop for all Coca-Cola sales team and drivers. The event took place at the B.M.I.C.H and resource persons were Chairman of NCRS – Aruna K. Ranasinghe, Secretary of NCRSChaturaUmagiliya, C.W. Muthukumarana, Chief Motor Traffic Advisor – Department of Motor Transport, Kithsiri Kumara, Chief Inspector of Police – Traffic Police Headquarters and PushpaRamyaniSoiza, Officer of the National Training Officer – Emergency Service Unit at the National Hospital and Aracchilage Ruwan coordinated the program.
Commenting on the workshop, participant and Company Sales RepresentativeH.A.R.S. Perera stated “We are very thankful to Coca-Cola and NCRS for organizing a workshop of this nature, as it benefited me immensely as a driver. It was good to be updated on the rules and regulations and be reminded of the road safety signs that affect me as a driver. I am also equipped with the knowledge of basic first aid and what constitutes to an effective response when faced with a road accident”.
The workshop highlighted key road safety techniques and provided participants with an insight into basic road rules and importantly the effective first aid methods to be used after an accident. Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka works with a network of drivers to transport beverages across the country, and this workshop provided them with an opportunity to improve and upgrade their knowledge and understanding of general road safety rules.
