FCPMA educates Drafting Technologists on Chrysotile Roofing Sheets

The Fibre Cement Product Manufacturers Association or FCPMA recently held a special seminar titled “Facts about the use of Chrysotile Asbestos Cement Roofing Sheets” at the Sapphire Hotel in Wellawatte. The seminar which was held for the members of the Institute of Drafting Technologists in Sri Lanka was supported by its President ChandimaNallaperuma.

Coordinator of the FCPMA Anton Edema, Director of the Chrysotile Information Center, Sri LankaSunil Amarawansa, expert in Occupational Safety and Health Dr.WajiraM.Palipane, Production Manager cum Technical Services Manager at Built Element Limited Gamini Nanayakkarawasam, Vice President – Marketing of Sri Ramco Lanka (Pvt) Ltd Tyrone Rudolph, Marketing Manager – Rhino Roofing Products LimitedPriyanthaJayasingheand Quality Assurance Manager – Rhino Roofing Products Limited Duminda Hettiarachchi attended the event on behalf of the FCPMA.

Valuable information on the Chemical and Physical properties of Chrysotile Fibre was shared with the audience by Anton Edema while Dr.Palipana spoke on the Safe use of Chrysotile Fibre. Gamini Nanayakkara also spoke on the Facts about Chrysotile Fibre which is used in Sri Lanka.

The audience engaged with the speakers positively and had many questions regarding the safe use of Chrysotile Roofing Sheets, the global successful usage of Chrysotile and the benefits of Chrysotile Roofing Sheets.
