Lanka Aluminium Designs and Develops an In-house Tested and Accredited Window System
Lanka Aluminium PLC, the pioneer aluminium extrusion manufacturer catering specially for the high-end architectural segment of the market recently obtained accreditation for their in-house ribbon window system.
This makes Lanka Aluminium the first local manufacturer to obtain international accreditation for an in-house developed system.
These large panel sized ribbon windows are mostly used in high-rise buildings and have been tested at the internationally accredited Windwalls testing laboratory against water ingress, wind loads impact and other parameters, thus giving the user confidence and a guarantee that the product will meet all the necessary safety and performance standards.
Lanka Aluminium’s fixed panel ribbon window system has been tested to ASTM standards and the company is currently in the process of introducing sliding and casement window systems as well as a curtain wall which is also to be accredited.
This system is currently being used at the prestigious Movenpick Project site and has been earmarked for several other high-rise buildings in the city.
“We are very pleased to have developed the in-house skills, capable of designing systems to meet customer requirements” said Dinal Peiris, Managing Director-Lanka Aluminium PLC.
“This will enable us to supply a system which meets the consultant’s and client’s exact requirements. They will now not have to compromise in any way” he added.
He further said “We realize the importance of ensuring good value and we feel that our products will enable the user not only to reduce his cost, but also have a tested and proven system”.
The company was also the first in Sri Lanka to obtain SLS certification for a part of its product range.
Lanka Aluminium recently posted a marked improvement in its profits soon after the installation of a new plant and they are in the process of further increasing their capacity to meet the increasing demand.
