LBR LBO Debrief “Business Climate Outlook of 2016”
LBR LBO Debrief “Business Climate Outlook” is now a must-attend event prior to the new calendar year begins, to gain valuable insight to the unfolding economic and political scenario at global, regional and local levels.
Speaking to media, Lakshaman Bandaranayake, Founding Publisher of Lanka Business Online (LBO) said “In a world of increasing economic integration, no business executive, investor, public sector official, academic or researcher can afford to be oblivious to the pulse of the economy- global, regional and local. Fortunes of Sri Lankan economy during the next 12 months will be closely linked to that of global economy as well as to the economic policy and the impact of the budget proposals. LBR LBO Debrief aims to bring clarity to political-economy in a state of flux.”
As in the past LBR LBO DEBRIEF this year too will see an array of local and international speakers taking the stage to provide a concise overview of what one can expect in global economy, key economies and in Sri Lankan economy.
This year’s LBR LBO DEBRIEF has broadened the scope to cover shifting global and regional geo-political situation; the emerging world political and security order and business leaders’ perspectives on navigating enterprises in the emerging economic-political scenario.
The program will also discuss the implications of the recent budget and the Prime Minister’s policy statement and the implications to the economy and industry.
The program will specifically discuss and debate:
1) The global, regional and local economic outlook, state of play in key markets and evolving global political and security order
2) Likely impact of global economic and geopolitical developments, including monetary policy normalization in the US, on Sri Lankan economy and business climate
3) Budget of 2016 and Prime Minister’s policy statement and what they mean to commerce and industry
4) Business leader’s expectations and how they intend to lead and navigate their organizations in the evolving political and economic landscape.
The confirmed speakers, as at 26th November, include leading local and international economists, public sector officials, business executives, researchers and international media professionals. The speakers represent international multi-lateral organizations, international and local banks, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, independent research organization, media and think tanks. Five insightful keynote presentations will be the foundation of the event. Regional economists will critically examine the outlook of world economy, the state of play of key economies, and what one can expect in Sri Lankan economy. Paulius Kuncinas (Managing Editor, Asia, Oxford Business Group) will bring insightful perspectives on the rapidly changing global security and political order.
Finally, Nishan de Mel PhD, Executive Director of Verité Research, will discuss how the Sri Lankan economy is likely to unfold during the next 12 months.
In addition to the keynotes, three thought provoking panel discussions will aim to explore how will the evolving political-economic scenario impacts Sri Lankan business/economy, and how Sri Lankan business leaders intend to navigate their enterprises in 2016.
