The management of Tesco visits Hirdaramani factory in Mullaitivu

Richard Anthony Collins – COO, F&F Clothing UK and Alison Tania Rose – Director International Sourcing, Tesco HK, recently joined Azmina Kareem – General Manager of Tesco Sri Lankaandthe Directors of the Hirdaramani Group on a site visit of theHirdaramanifactory in Mullaitivu.

As a company that is committed to CSR & empowerment, Tesco works closely with its partners to promote socially responsible manufacturing, as such the management of Tesco were keen to see first-hand the impact that Hirdaramani is having on the community in Mullaitivu. Apart from gaining an overview of the facility, the Tesco team also had the opportunity to meet and interact with employees of the factory and visited Puthukkudiyiruppu Roman Catholic Vidyalaya, which the Hirdaramani Group recently refurbished. With a long standing partnership, Tesco andHirdaramani have collaborated on Tesco’s ‘Buy One Give One’ programme and both companies have donated thousands of uniforms and supplies to schools across the Sri Lanka, and recently extended theprogrammetoMullaitivuas well.
