The Honourable Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion, Kabir Hashim, has been in touch with the owners of the Brandix factory which caught fire in the BOI zone in Katunayake earlier this morning.
The BOI fire department responded to the emergency immediately and, along with the aviation fire department, have been able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring factories.
The factory was closed today in lieu of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
