SLPA launches its exclusive news website news.slpa.lk
Sri Lanka Ports Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Ports,Shipping and Southern Development launched its exclusive and dedicated news website news.slpa.lk today, 21st February 2019.
The launch took place at a function held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development, with the initiative of Hon.Minister of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development – Sagala Ratnayaka, Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development – Dr.Parakrama Dissanayake, Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) – Mr.Kavan Ratnayaka, Managing Director of SLPA – Capt.Athula Hewawitharana and a number of Directors, Executive staff members and officials of both SLPA and the Ministry were also present at the occasion.
The website was created and will be managed by the Communication and Public Relations Division (CPRD) of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA).
The new website fulfills the timely requirement of correct and accurate dissemination of news, features and news related articles of the maritime port sector of Sri Lanka. The latest information all maritime port related projects launched by the government of Sri Lanka in the local port sector, its new developments, global achievements in terms of the positioning of Colombo and other ports in the world maritime indexes, and port related developmental news information will be shared through the new dedicated web platform for easy reference of professionals in and outside the country, press and electronic media as well as all interested audiences and online readerships. The new website will also act a catalyst in knowledge management requirement in the local maritime port sector.
In an exclusive message Hon. Minister of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development – Sagala Ratnayaka congratulated the Chairman of SLPA and all Directors, Executives and other staffs who took initiative to implement the new website fulfilling this timely requirement of faster and reliable dissemination of port related information through the soft media platform.
