Sri Lanka’s first-ever International Fire, Industrial Safety andHomeland Security Exhibition in Colombo
NEFSEC, an International Exhibition of Fire, Industrial Safety andHomeland Security, was recently held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre(SLECC) for the first time in the country. The event was organized by Nexgen Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., Asia’s leading and established exhibition and conference organizers and was graced byChief Guest- Mr. JagathWijeweera, Secretary to the Ministry of Law and Order and Mr. N.G. Panditharathne, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development and Competent Authority for Civil Security Affairs as Guest of Honour.
The NEFSEC exhibitionfocused on many sectors devoted to Fire, Rescue, Police, Homeland Security, Surveillance Disaster and Emergency Response.The Homeland Security segment was also co-located at the same venue while it focused on the requirements of Defence Organizations, Disaster Management Authorities, Industrial establishments and Households.
This expo held critical importance as the Business-to-Business (B2B) eventwas instrumental in introducing latest equipment, technology and products for Homeland and Public Security, thereby bringing together key leaders of both segments on a single platform, including senior officers of the Ministry of Law and Order, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Disaster Management, Police Force, Civil Defence Force, Defence Officers, Industrial Security Authorities, Public Security Officers and other industry stakeholders of various countries.
The manufacturers of satellites, telecom and electronic defense equipment, Droneswere some of the participants at the Expo; while manufacturers of fire control systems and launchers plus other relevant military, police and internal security technology, systems were also featured.
Participants at the Exhibition were also able to generate new leads and sales in order to capture new markets, launch and demonstrate products in front of prospective buyers and interact with public and private industry leaders and build their brand image.
The visitor profile included Commanding officers, Generals, Jail Chiefs and other senior personnel from the armed forces of Sri Lanka and other countries; Police Chiefs, Forensics Labs, Disaster Management Authorities, Civil Defense Officers, Secretaries, Superintendents; Ambassadors; Defense attaches; Defense and security industry executives; Civilian and military police personnel and other traders, dealers and distributors.
