Yamaha Executive GM visits Sri Lanka
Yamaha Executive GM, Mr Takeshi Yano, has arrived in Sri Lanka in a move that is expected to further solidify the partnership between Yamaha Japan and local agents Associated Motorways (Private) limited. AMW and Yamaha’s partnership has spanned an incredible 34 illustrious years, whilst mobilizing thousands of families thanks to Yamaha’s comprehensive line-up of motorcycles. AMW are exclusive distributors for both Yamaha motorcycles and Yamaha marine and power products, which includes watercraft and outboard motors amongst others.
The last year has been especially significant for Yamaha in Sri Lanka, with a staggering recorded growth rate of 120% for the year 2014. This success is in no small part due to the newly introduced Yamaha Ray and Alfa 125cc scooters – which perfectly complemented the already comprehensive line up including the FZ, FZ-S, FAZER, SZR, SZX. The coming year will see yet more new Yamaha motorcycles enter the market, starting with the Yamaha FZ Version 2; a 125cc motorcycle with economy in mind.
Further plans for Yamaha’s expanding motorcycle line up have been drawn up with the deregulation of the high powered motorcycle ban. As such, many higher capacity, enthusiast oriented bikes will be introduced to the local market in the not so distant future. These halo bikes represent the pinnacle in manufacturing and technological greatness that Yamaha has been able to achieve in over 60 years of industry leadership. These new additions will undoubtedly further enhance the growth and brand image of Yamaha in Sri Lanka.
“Mr. Takeshi Yano’s visit is indeed a momentous occasion for all of us here at AMW,”said AMW Managing Director Mr. Samantha Rajapaksa. “We’re delighted to have him here, and look forward to further cementing the relationship between Yamaha Japan and AMW. Together we will also look towards several new initiatives in order to further strengthen Yamaha’s presence in the island”.
Associated Motorways, with 34 years of Yamaha experience and 65 years in the industry are the market leaders of the automotive sector. As such, all Yamaha bikes are backed up by an island wide network to provide aftersales assistance, as well as above-par customer service and genuine spare parts availability.
