ANC GRADUATION SHOWCASES TRANSNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL FEATS Nearly 500 transferring to universities in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Malaysia
An expansive cohort of over 500 high achieving young men and women proved that Sri Lanka’s amazing young talent is ready for global employability at the ANC Graduation Ceremony 2016. ANC Education, Sri Lanka’s largest transnational education provider has been the spearhead in presenting a plethora of undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees in multiple disciplines, through an eminent faculty and strong global partnerships with highly ranked universities on multiple continents. These pioneering relationships have led ANC Education to applaud those postgraduates completing the Master of Laws, Master of Science and Master of Business Administration from the University of West London and those graduating from USA’s Northwood University and Missouri University of Science and Technology. There was also those completing the Monash College Diploma and Monash University Foundation Programmes, etching a clear pathway into Australia’s most prestigious universities.
Endorsing the significant contribution being made towards higher education in Sri Lanka, Consular Chief of the US Embassy in Colombo Sally Sternal stated that Sri Lankan students graduating from the various top ranked universities in the US have been formidable forces in shaping the way young people in the world think and act. “I’m most impressed with the calibre of students who graduate from ANC as I see how each of you are well endowed with the apt knowledge and skill to be remarkable young people in a global environment.” These sentiments were further validated during the addresses made by the Dean of International Programs at Northwood University Dr Mamiko Reeves, Senior Pro-Vice Chancellor Research & Enterprise of University of West London Professor Anthony Woodeman and Chair of John F Kennedy University’s Undergraduate Psychology Program Dr Steven A Del Chiaro, all of who were present to confer the certificates from their respective universities. Each strongly affirmed that the qualifications being presented are of high value, not only in competency and knowledge, but also in employability, well geared to emerging paradigms and opportunities that abound from a global perspective.
Chief Guest, Chairman and Managing Director of Hayleys Agriculture Holdings and Executive Director of Hayleys PLC Rizvi Zaheed’s words of advice to the young men and women resonated with the changing times and evolving opportunities. “The world you live in now is teeming with change and opportunity and the only way you can take advantage of that is if you have a curious mind and an innovative mind.” Urging them to be humble and caring, strong in mind, heart and body and never be afraid of hard work, he asked them to, “Always take time to smell the roses. Don’tfall into the trap of work, work, work.” His parting words encouraged these achievers to consider themselves as their own role model. “Look at yourself and your achievements. What more must be done to achieve your dream.”
As Executive Director/CEO of ANC Education Dr Punarjeeva Karunanayake articulated in his address, “The vision to become the best education provider in Sri Lanka has been achieved now, from the time our journey began in 2002. Today, we have firmly cemented a reputation as being the best education provider in South Asia.” In a constant quest to present global educational opportunities for this region, Dr Karunanayake also said that ANC is also the only educational entity that offers a complete education cycle from pre-school, to secondary and high school, undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. “We inked yet another groundbreaking initiative recently by introducing the Australian Foundation Programme which gives guaranteed undergraduate placements in over 25 Australian universities. We also launched the Australian Placement Programme giving students degree options in at least 13 Australian universities.”
ANC Education also signed an MOU with Deakin University, one of Australia’s leading universities for the Foundation and Diploma programme which also guarantees placement into Deakin University, one of the most popular universities for Sri Lankans in Australia. In fact, in his address, Manager International of Deakin University Carl Jones commended ANC for its vision in making education affordable and accessible to a larger number of students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to avail themselves of a quality education.
