CA Sri Lanka to kick off popular cyber-crime fighting diploma in January 2015
The popular cyber-crime fighting course, the Diploma in Information Systems Security, Control & Audit (DISSCA) conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) kicked off on 19th January 2015.
The programme which has already completed 21 batches, is conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and is conducted by foreign expert, Mr. Mathew A Thomas, Chartered Accountant (FCA, MCA, DISA (ICAI), CISSP, PhD), who will be supported by a local faculty comprising of experts representing leading organisations such as NDB, Commercial Bank, PwC, Layers-7 SeguroConsultoria Pvt Ltd and CA Sri Lanka.
The annual diploma programme conducted over a period of six months has been widely popular amongst the corporate community in Sri Lanka due to its unique modules covering a multitude of areas such as; Information Technology IS Infrastructure & Emerging Technologies, Information Systems Assurance Services, Governance & Management of Enterprise Information Technology, Risk Management and Compliance Reviews, Protection of Information Systems Infrastructure and Information Assets, Systems Development: Acquisition, Maintenance and Implementation, Business Applications Software Audit and Business Continuity Management.
The diploma is specially designed for managers, supervisors of audit firms and internal auditors requiring functional level understanding of computer auditing, and also for financial officers, controllers and accountants working in an information systems environment requiring the understanding of information system control and security.
Participants have the option of following the entire programme or on a module basis. Students who complete the course can sit for the exam conducted by ICAI in June or December, while participants can follow the programme module wise, where module wise exams will be conducted by CA Sri Lanka, and a certificate will be issued accordingly.
