IFAC President meets students & lecturers of accounting bodies
Ms. Olivia Kirtley, President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) met with students of CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, CMA, ACCA, AAT and universities, as well as lecturers on the morning of 27th July 2015 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, for an interactive session on ‘Corporate Governance, Ethics and Accountancy Education.’
During the session, Ms. Kirtley also spoke on IFAC’s strategic priorities for 2015 and the global trends in the profession, in addition to engaging in a question and answer session focused on accountancy education.
The welcome speech was delivered by CA Sri Lanka CEO Mr. Aruna Alwis.
The panel discussion comprised of IFAC President Ms. Olivia Kirtley, IFAC CFO Mr. Russell Guthrie, Mr. Manil Jayasinghe, Partner of Ernst & Young, and Chairman – Education & Curriculum Development Committee of CA Sri Lanka, and Mr. L. L. SurangaIndunil, Head – Group Internal Audits of Brandix Lanka Limited.
