Kingsbridge American College holds a Bak Maha Ulela

The Sinhala and Hindu New Year celebrations of the Kingsbridge American College were held recently. Students of all branches of Kingsbridge American College, teachers and other staff members participated in the event which was held in Boralesgamuwa. The event consisted of many features including traditional games, and cultural performances including dances and songs. In addition to the games and cultural performances, it was a special feature that a number of features had been added to the event to give students a wide knowledge about New Year rituals.

Having been founded in 2015 by visionary educationist Ms. Nadeesha Mitsuko Nandesena, the Kingsbridge American College has since expanded to three branches, Boralesgamuwa, Maththegoda and Horana, with many experienced and qualified teachers, assistants and trainee teachers. The College also operates a toddler care and daycare unit (from 6 am to 6 pm), which facilitates food, bedding, transport, hygiene care and activities for children. The College’s aim is to provide comprehensive education to pre-primary grades to advanced grades in English medium. Despite being an international school, Kingsbridge encourages and supports children of all ethnic groups, cultures and religions, ensuring equality and undifferentiated opportunity. It covers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as karate, badminton, dancing and singing. The Principal, Ms. Nandesena, a former advanced level teacher, who was awarded as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022 – Women Icon, has been the pillar of the College since its conception. She continues to be an immense strength to the growth by overseeing all operations and functions of the College, which also provides International Teacher Training (Recognised framework) programmes, Management Courses, HR Management and Professional Spoken English programmes and many more.
