Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing graduation ceremony held for the first time
Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing, the nurses training arm of Lanka Hospitals Academy, held the first graduation ceremony in its history for the hospital’s new nurses who graduated with a Diploma in General Nursing from the batch of 2018. Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing is the first nursing school in Sri Lanka to offer the NVQ Level-6 Higher National Diploma in Nursing. The nursing students’ batch of 2020 who celebrated their capping ceremony on the same day, will be the first students of Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing to sit for the NVQ Level-6 Higher National Diploma in Nursing. Each year the school trains around 60 nurses, with an English language curriculum and lectures fully conducted in English to expand the knowledge and skills of nursing students. A high standard is maintained in the training programme for students with real-life clinical settings designed for on-the-ground training at Lanka Hospitals.

The NVQ Level-6 Higher National Diploma in Nursing conducted by Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing is approved by National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) and the Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission (TVEC). Therefore, by the end of the programme students will receive the internationally recognised NVQ Level-6 Higher National Diploma in Nursing from TVEC as well.
