PIMA Holds Press Conference to Announce the Launch of PIMA Olympics-National Management Awards 2016
The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA) hosted a press conference on the 27th of January 2016, in order to announce the launch of the PIMA Olympics – National Management Awards. The event was held inthe Vidya Hall of the Postgraduate Institute of Management at no. 28, Leslie RanagalaMawatha, Colombo 08.
The primary purpose of the award ceremony is the recognition of talent and excellence in the industry of business and management.Leading CEOs, Directors and Senior Managers in the industry will be contending for a place in the line up in order to stand a chance of winning an award at the most respected and iconic management awards ceremony in Sri Lanka. This year PIMA has entered into partnerships with a number of leading organizations in the country, including the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the National Chamber of Commerce and the European Chamber of Commerce.
The awards will take place according to 10 different categories: PIMA Life Time Achievement Awards, PIMA & CCC Diamond Service Award for Most Outstanding Business Manager of the Year, PIMA Platinum Honors, PIMA & CCC Diamond Service Award for Most Outstanding Expatriate Business Manager of the Year, PIMA Award for Most Outstanding Female Business Leader of the year, PIMA – European Chamber Maverick of the Year, PIMA and National Chamber award for Best Manager in Global Market Reach, PIMA & National Chamber award for the Most Outstanding Manager in Corporate Social Responsibility, PIMA best 4 Under 40 Managers of the Year, PIMA best 3 Under 30 Managers of the Year. In addition to these, PIMA’s partnership with UAE has served to produce two more awards: the PIMA Diamond Award for Most Outstanding Business Manager of the Year – UAEand the PIMA Diamond Award for Most Outstanding Female Business Leader of the Year – UAE. Applicants are expected to select a category under which they wish to contend for the awards.
The prestigious panel of judges for this year’s PIMA Olympics – National Management Awards includes, Dr. Saman Kalegama, Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka, Mr. Aravinda Perera, Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC, Mr. Rajendra Theagarajah, Director/CEO, of NDB Bank PLC, Mr. Sunil Wijesinghe, Chairman of United Mortors PLC, Mrs. RohiniNanayakkara, former General Manager of Bank of Ceylon, Mrs. Indrani Sugathadasa, Chairperson of Insurance Board of Sri Lanka, Mr. Vish Govindasamy, Group Managing Director of Sunshine Holdings PLC and Mr. Lalith Fernando, Business Controller of Dialog Axiata PLC.
