TheTele-awardsCeremonythatcommencedelevenyearsagoasthebiggestannualeventofthetele-industryhasnow evolved in to Raigam Tele’es – the Tele-awards Ceremony of the Nation.
The eleven Raigam Tele’es will be held on the 12th of June 2015 at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre
ElevenyearsisaverylongexperiencefororganizersofRaigamTele’esandforawardrecipients,averyspecialevent. Toholdanawardceremonyatthehighestlevelforelevenconsecutiveyearsisaveryspecialvictoryforusovercoming many challenges. We share that happiness and the strength we have thus gained with the Media and the General Public andwegladlyandproudlyacceptthechallengeoforganizingtheAwardsCeremonyoftheNationtoencompassthe whole of the tele-media.
Anoccasionretainsitsvalueandcurrencyonlyifitevolveswiththepassageoftimewhilemaintainingitsoriginal values.If,inanawardceremony,awardwinnersarequeuedupandgivenawardsjustforthesakeofholdinganaward ceremony,thateventwillnotgenerateanyinterest;atleastnotforverylong.Theaudiencewillnothaveanyenthusiasm astherewillbenothingtoarousetheirinterest.Thatisthereasonwhyaudiencesinmanyawardceremoniesapplaud the award recipient so unenthusiastically. That is also the reason why AIFA Awards Ceremony is so popular.
ElevenyearsagoRaigamTele-awardsCeremonystartedasanawardsceremonyforthetele-dramaindustryandwent ontobecometheircrowningeventeachyear.Withtheideaofbringingtheawardsceremonyuptothestandardof GRAMMY Awards or FILM-FARE, we have re-branded the awards ceremony as Raigam Tele’es.
RaigamTele’escoversallsectorsoftheTelevisionIndustry.ItincludesTe-dramasaswellasSports,Children’s, Political,News,Documentary,RealityandmanyotherprogramsnotforgettingTechnicalSectors.RaigamTele’es considersawardsonlyfortalentsthatcanbeconsideredatnationallevelforwhichRaigamTele’eshasestablishedaset ofnormswhichareverystrictlyadheredto.ThereforeRaigamTele’estrulyisaNationalAwardsCeremony.Thereare many sectors considered by Raigam Tele’es for awards. Althoughtheover-viewoftheRAIGAMTele’eshasbeenbroadened,theRaigamTele’esSecretariathasdecidedto keepthenumberofawardsunchangedfromlastyear.AccordinglythisyeartootherewillbeawardsforYear’sBest Creative, Acting, Singing and Technical Talents and Multi-Episode Tele-drama and Single-Episode Tele-drama.
Television Media Excellence
AlthoughthemostpopularTVprogramisTele-Drama,mostTVtimeistakenupbyother,differentprograms.The responsibilityoftheTVmediaisalsotoprovideEducation,Entertainmentandtokeeptheaudienceupdatedon variousareasofinterest.TVisthemostpowerfulmarketingtoolwehave.Thereforewiththehopeofdeveloping thecreativeandtechnicaltalentssothattheycouldprovidebetterandbetterTVfareforthegeneralpublichelping themsharpentheirmindsandtastes,awardswillbepresentedtobesteffortsinNewsReading,NewsReporting, Current Affairs, Educational, Children’s, Musical, Reality, and Political Programs.

The Preceding Tele’es
Theawardsceremonyorganizedinthemostgloriousfashionwithutmostattentiontodetailwhilepreservingthe dignityoftheevent.Asusual,theCeremonyreceivedunprecedentedStatepatronage.Thisnightwasamemorable nightindeedwheneveryoneconnectedtotheTVindustrymetwitheachotherandTVChannel-headsandHeads ofveriousInstitutions.Onlytheinviteeshadtheprivilegeofwitnessingtheshowinitsfullglory.Theeventwas telecast later when everyone was able to see ceremony.
The Jury
The Judge Panel consists of eight members and most of them have past experience in similar capacity. The Chairman of the panel is Renown Artist Buddhadasa Galappaththi. Other members are Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, Renown Film Critique & Journalist Gunasiri Silva, well-known journalist Jayantha Rukmanee Siriwardene, Veteran Cinematographer M.D. Mahindapala, Senior Administrative Officer Ranasignhe Dissanayake,Veteran Film Director Inoka Sathyangani, Prof. S.J.Yogarajah will perform duties as special advisor in the tamil medium
Acceptance of Entries
The last day for the acceptance of application for Raigam Tele’es has been extended to 21st February 2015.
Creations eligible for be evaluation for awards at the Raigam Tele’es are as follows.
1). Tele-dramas – Local tele-dramas that had telecast the last episode in 2014.
2). Other creations – Should have been telecast during 2014.
3). Any production telecast over cable TV or any other paid channel or any dubbed production are not eligible for awards.
4). News Readers and Program Presenters may send their application through their TV channel or independently.
