Wolfgang Esports dominates Gamer.LK’s Logitech G Valorant Pro League powered by Viewsonic Gaming
Gamer.LK broke ground once again in the Esports scene with Gamer.LK’s Logitech G Valorant Pro League powered by Viewsonic Gaming, the first pro-invitational Esports event for ‘Valorant’. Valorant, by Riot Games, is one of the world’s most popular competitive Esports titles, demanding heavy training to develop dexterity, coordination and teamwork.
Gamer.LK’s Logitech G Valorant Pro League powered by Viewsonic Gaming was an invitational face-off between the country’s top Esports clans (similar to sports clubs), a large number of which have emerged over the last decade with larger clans having over 500 members.
Sri Lanka’s top eight Valorant clans, EvoX Esports, Maximum Esports, Noob Alliance, Phoenix GaminG, Tech Morph, Union Gaming, Wolfgang Esports and Xiphos Esports were invited for this tournament bringing together the island’s best Valorant athletes, including rostered players from Sri Lanka Esports’ national team.
The League launched on 16th December with a randomly seeded round robin group stage and a knockout based play-offs for the final stages.
- Group A – EvoX Esports, Maximum Esports, Noob Alliance and Phoenix GaminG
- Group B – Tech Morph, Union Gaming, Wolfgang Esports and Xiphos Esports.
After a series of nail biting matches Maximum Esports and Noob Alliance qualified from Group A for the semi-finals, while Union Gaming and Wolfgang Esports emerged from Group B. Wolfgang Esports played against Noob Alliance and Union Gaming played against Maximum Esports in the semi-finals with Wolfgang Esports and Union Gaming moving to the finals.
Maximum Esports and Noob Alliance battled for the third place and after three intense matches Maximum Esports claimed victory. Maximum Esports was represented by Musaffer Muzin (zIppA), Muaath Muzin (Hotaaa), Athahur Rahuman (HeroRahz), Yohan Perera (MAIYA), Mahesh Samzz (W A T S O N) and Navo Rajapaksha (NaVo) with Kithmina Gayashan (Backuu) as the team manager.
Gamer.LK’s Logitech G ‘Valorant Pro League’ powered by Viewsonic Gaming showcased a stunning grand finale between Wolfgang Esports and Union Gaming. Wolfgang Esports represented by Christopher Amarasinghe (team manager), Lahiru Sandaruwa (LiNo #SpriT), Shazlim Amith (SCR1M), Thulith De Zoysa (1KAPUMBA), Vibuda Dezoysa (Chromnz), Sithija Amarasinghe (Gensh1) and Nisitha Weerasinghe (Dopie) emerged the first ever champions of the tournament.
Union Gaming represented by Ashref Ahmed (team manager), Sanjeevan Kalaieesan (BenJ), Geeshan Jayarajah (Defiance), Kavishkar Jayarajah (Hurricane), Pravin Fernando (cringe), Shanyouk Kulatunga (Jazz) rose as the runner-up of the tournament.
Aqeel Sirraj (dennis69) of Noob Alliance, Musaffer Muzin (zIppA) of Maximum Esports, Geeshan Jayarajah (Defiance) of Union Gaming and Athahur Rahuman (HeroRahz) of Maximum Esports all displayed exceptional performances with Omal Prabuddha (Roach) of Union Gaming claiming the top spot in the tournament with 203 eliminations.
