Citrus Waskaduwa joins hands with Kings Hospital to commence operations as an Intermediary Care Centre
Colombo Sri Lanka : Sri Lanka’s luxury beachfront resort, Citrus Waskaduwa, recently joined hands with Kings Hospital Colombo to commence operations as an Intermediary Care Centre (ICC), strengthening Sri Lanka’s fight against COVID-19. Citrus Waskaduwa, which was one of the first resorts to offer its property and facilities to the government of Sri Lanka to be utilized as a quarantine center, takes this brave step forward showing resourcefulness in accelerating the country’s recovery and aptly adapting to the ‘new normal’ of living alongside the global pandemic.
The Intermediary Care Centre begins operations on the 5th of March 2021, wherein asymptomatic and mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients will receive world-class accommodation and meals via Citrus Waskaduwa, with Kings Hospital bringing years of expertise in medical care and operating the treatment of patients under the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. After an expert medical screening, the Centre is equipped to facilitate COVID-19 patients who have other comorbid illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension, with the Centre hosting a High-Dependency Unit (HDU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the event that critical care is required. Additionally, ambulance services within defined spaces can be availed for emergency transportation of patients under expert supervision of the Kings Hospital staff, allowing patients to recover in a more relaxed and conducive environment.

The hotel, consisting of 150 rooms on single, double, and triple basis, is situated in close proximity to Colombo and boasts accommodation with sea view and private balconies. Further, Citrus Waskaduwa now caters special Food & Beverage menus inclusive of diabetic, vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.
