Hayleys Fentons joins hands with district hospitals of Sri Lanka to treat covid-19 patients
In its ongoing commitment to play an active role in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka, Hayleys Fentons the Group’s leading integrated engineering solutions specialist, rolled out their state-of-the-art communication system to the state hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
With over 43 years with one of the world’s leading information technology and electronic companies – NEC in Sri Lanka, this initiative was developed with the aim of enabling doctors and front liners battling the virus to communicate via a PA system, and visually monitor their patients through CCTV without any physical presence or contact.
Concurrently, patients may also call on their medical officers to receive attention to their medical needs and requests. Hereby, not only enabling better patient supervision, but enhancing the safety of all medical staff having higher exposure risks.
“In this time of need, we believe that it is our solemn duty to support the authorities, and this is why we fully appreciate the tireless efforts of the Health Sector in arresting the spread of the pandemic. We have always placed a heavy emphasis on the value of engineering and innovation across many diverse sectors including healthcare. Hence, as our nation braces itself against the latest wave of COVID-19, we are implementing this communication system with the hopes of strengthening the safety of the front-liners by minimising their exposure to the virus.” Hayleys Fentons Managing Director, Hasith Prematillake said.
To date, the new monitoring system has already been implemented at the state hospitals in Iranavila, Balapitiya, Palamunai, Dankotuwa, and the District Hospital of Mullaitivu with tremendous success.
