COCA-COLA AND CARGILLS FOOD CITY HOST ISLAND-WIDE CRICKET MANIA PROMOTION
Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka (CCBSL) recently partnered with Cargills Food City to host an exciting island-wide ‘Celebrate the Season of Cricket’ scratch card competition. The promotion culminated in nine lucky winners walking away with television sets and nearly 25,000 consumers winning concessionary prizes. The company recently held a prize-giving at the Coca-Cola office in Tekkawatta, Biyagama to present the television sets to the winners. Present at the event were Shara Senadeera, Representative from Cargills Food City, Shamal Gunawardene, Country Marketing Manager, CCBSL along with the Coca-Cola marketing team.
Cargills Food City shoppers who purchased two large bottles of Coke during the promotion period were provided with a scratch card at check-out. Shoppers were rewarded with instant prizes including Food City vouchers and an assortment of food items. The grand prizes of the ‘Celebrate the Season of Cricket’ competition included nine 32’ LED Television sets.
Shamal Gunawardene –Country Marketing Manager, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Limited explained, “In a country where people are passionate about sports, we felt the need to engage with consumers during the cricket season. By partnering with a renowned chain of supermarkets such as Food City, we were able to instantaneously reward shoppers and ensure that they enjoy many moments of happiness with Coca-Cola.” W.M.S. Seneviratne, one of the winners of the competition stated, “I’m thrilled about winning this promotion. I had bought the Coca-Cola bottles to celebrate my son’s homecoming, winning the television only added to our celebration. Coke is and always will be the number one choice of beverage in our home.”
Dasni Rekani, another winner commented, “We regularly buy Coca-Cola as the entire family enjoys its refreshing taste. We are very happy to have won this prize. We buy all our products from Food City and even the friendly Food City staff joined us in celebrating this big win.’
