CA Sri Lanka charters Rotaract Club for Chartered Accountants and CA students
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently chartered a Rotaract Club for the benefit of its members and students in the presence of Rotary International President Mr. Ian Riseley, who was in Sri Lanka recently.
The CA Sri Lanka Rotaract Club will bring together CA members and students to exchange ideas, develop their leadership and professional skills, while also taking initiative to serve the community.
The CA Sri Lanka Rotaract Club was launched following an initiative taken by the President of the Rotary Club of Colombo East, Mr. Indrajith Fernando, who is also a Past President of the Institute. During the launch of the club, immediate Past President of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Lasantha Wickremasinghe, President of the Rotaract Club Ms. Dinushki Herat, District Governor Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero, and CA Sri Lanka’s former Council Member Mr. N.R. Gajendran and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Aruna Alwis were also present.
Rotaract is a social organisation for young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 aimed at providing a platform for these young professionals to advance their career while instilling the service ideals of Rotary, while also encouraging the occupational excellence of the rotary movement. The CA Sri Lanka Rotaract Club was launched to cater to the members and students of the institute in fulfilling the Rotary movement objective.
