The CIM 5th Annual Future Marketers Conference 2016 on the history cards ‘Branding in the Digital Era’
The CIM Future Marketers Conference 2016 kicked off in style at the Hilton Colombo Residence for the Fifth consecutive year. “Branding in the Digital Era” being the topic on role, sowed the seeds of success as the tickets were sold out prior to the event. The conference indeed paved the way to dive into the deep end of branding in the digital era enhancing the skill sets of the future marketers via a fusion of theory and practice.
Nearly 300 energetic future marketers were a part of the 5th Annual CIM Future Marketers Conference 2016, acquiring valuable insights to broaden their careers. Under the overarching theme of “Branding in the Digital Era” the participants were able to witness 5 different industry experts with tons of experience taking the center stage. The speakers inspired the budding marketers through provoking dialogues, driving the next generation of marketers in Sri Lanka.
Ruchi Gunewardene, Managing Director Brand Finance Lanka, inspired the young marketers on the topic ‘Building great Brands in the Digital Era’. He also went on to share his experience on brand building and the turning point of building brands by tossing out old school thinking and adopting new tactics in building enduring brands in the digital space.
Asanga Ranasinghe, CEO Brandix Apperal Solutions Ltd, took the theme of the conference to a next level sharing his views and insights on delivering the brand promise through brilliant marketing in the dynamic digital space. He also went on to express his views on the benefit of connecting with customers by delivering the brand promise.
Dileep Mudadeniya, Head of Brand Marketing Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts and Vice President John Keels Group took the audience through the evolution of Cinnamon Hotels and how the entire Cinnamon colony was formed. He also went on to touch on the survival of the brand evolving in the digital Era.
Moreover Bimal Silva, Director/Chief Executive Officer at Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd, explained how the growth of the digital space led to an unprecedented transformation in consumer engagement with brands.
Shifting the gears, Marsh Dodanwela, Director – Digital Strategy Leo Burnett, brought in a novel twist to this year’s conference by drawing the attention of the audience with motivational and inspirational talks and gearing up the conference with some entertainment. He also went on to express how brands could surprise the world with creative campaigns in the digital space.
The conference was called a day with exhilaration and high spirits of the audience, thanks to the organizers, CIM student Committee Sri Lanka 2016. CIM Sri Lanka Student Committee President Malithi Herath expressed her views on the conference, “The CIM Future Marketer Conference 2016, was in the bags with the tickets sold out prior to the event. Participants turned out in large numbers and we were able to pull off yet another fastidious event. Indeed, I was privileged to lead a team of young marketers sharing a common aim of driving this knowledge sharing journey to greater heights. The conference was on full swing with well renowned speakers elevating the marketing fraternity of the country”
