ComBank conducts Leadership Readiness Forum for middle managers
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently conducted the inaugural Leadership Readiness Forum which was one of many projects planned under the Bank’s Middle Management Development Programme (MMDP).
Titled ‘The New Leadership DNA – Millennial Shift,’ the forum that took place at the Bank’s auditorium at Union Place, Colombo 2, included discussions on topics such as the empowerment of future leaders, mentoring leaders to avoid management blind spots, future-proofing individuals, removing toxicity from the organisation’s culture, and staying relevant to the times. Middle managers of the Bank joined these discussions from all parts of the country and from the Bank’s overseas operations too.
Mr Shakthi Ranatunga, the Chief Operating Officer of MAS Holdings graced the event as the guest panellist and Dr Samantha Rathnayake, Senior Management Consultant and a faculty member of PIM was the special guest at the event. Commercial Bank Managing Director/CEO Mr Sanath Manatunge and the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr S. Prabagar joined the panel discussions to impart their valuable knowledge to the future leaders of the Bank.
The Middle Management Development Programme launched by the Bank will benefit more than 130 middle managers over a period of two years. The programme was introduced to enhance the competencies of the Bank’s future leaders, develop their potential to assume greater responsibilities, enable emerging leaders to grow and connect across diverse business disciplines, prepare them for future challenges and roles, and equip them with a strategic leadership mindset.
