ComBank provides Internet Payment Gateway to Nuwara Eliya Golf Club
The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC), one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia, recently appointed the Commercial Bank of Ceylon as its Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) service provider.
The service will cover the authorisation and processing of payments via Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay branded Credit or Debit cards. NEGC membership fee payments can be processed though this facility.
The online payment processing of the web portal of NEGC will be powered by Commercial Bank through Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS).
Commercial Bank’s IPG solution provides a highly secure and cost-effective way to perform card-on-file transactions through tokenisation, keeping the users’ sensitive card details away from its systems. Tokenisation offers users the security of one-click online purchases fully-compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements.
It also provides access to a comprehensive set of fraud mitigation tools, supporting both ‘Mastercard Secure Code’ and ‘Verified by Visa’ 3D secure authentication solutions, and provides integration options to systems on multiple languages such as PHP, Java and C Sharp. Additionally, tokenisation supports device-optimised payment screens which are designed to offer a seamless experience to users of various devices.
Notably, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon also launched a co-branded World Mastercard Credit Card exclusively for Nuwara Eliya Golf Club members two years ago, offering them access to a host of benefits.
The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, founded in 1889, is one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia and probably the world. Founded by British planters who cultivated the land for tea in the Nuwara Eliya district, it is an18-hole course and is 6,399 yards long. The Club currently has over 2000 members.
The only Sri Lankan Bank to be ranked among the world’s top 1000 banks for nine years consecutively, Commercial Bank operates a network of 267 branches and 856 ATMs in Sri Lanka. The Bank won over 40 international and local awards in 2018, has received more than 25 awards to date this year, and been ranked among the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka in 2019.
Commercial Bank’s overseas operations encompass Bangladesh, where the Bank operates 19 outlets; Myanmar, where it has a Representative Office in Yangon and a Microfinance company in Nay PyiTaw; and the Maldives, where the Bank has a fully-fledged Tier I Bank with a majority stake.
