Experienced hotelier Sujeewa De Soysa, appointed GM to Grand Serendib Kandy
Sujeewa De Soysa, a highly efficient hotel manager with nearly many years of experience in day-to-day hotel management with the experience providing clients with the highest degree of hospitality and customer service by ensuring that facilities meet and exceed expectations has been appointed as the new General Manager of Grand Serendib Hotel Kandy. He also has a very close relationship with all high-level stakeholders for the hotel management, both in Private and Governmental organisations along with the local DMCs and has direct contracts with foreign tour operators. After completing his MBA at University of Kelaniya, he completed a four year management diploma in hotel and catering operations with specialisation in Food & Beverage operations in Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
He has a sound understanding of hotel administration and has the ability to provide a result oriented business leadership with proven competencies in managing the entire hotel operation. He also has strong leadership qualities and maintains sound PR with guests and staff as well. He is also a Fellow Member of the Sri Lanka Hospitality Graduate Association (SLHGA – Formerly known as Ceylon Hotel School Graduate Association CHSGA) and has over 25 years in the industry having worked in many hotels in Sri Lanka and overseas. He has also attended many travel shows. He also holds a Management Diploma in Food & Beverage Operations from the Sri Lanka institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Colombo (Formerly known as Ceylon Hotel School). Sujeeva also won a Bronze Medal in the Culinary Art Competition in 1997 for the Flambé Dessert Competition. He said that the luxury Grand Serendib Boutique Hotel in Kandy with 24 keys is among the best properties he has served so far. “I ‘m also looking at improving the service standards and increasing the guest occupancy among the local clientele and will soon launch several card promotions.’
