Imran Noordeen to drive growth at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo as Director of Sales
The recently launched Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extraordinary portfolio of 30 hotel brands, has appointed Imran Noordeen as Director of Sales.
Imran Noordeen brings 16+ years of experience with several leading international and local hotel chains. He started his hospitality career in 2006 as a Banquets Sales Executive at Galle Face Hotel Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 2008, following a relocation to the United Arab Emirates at Premier Inn Hotels, UAE. After playing a key role during the subsequent years in UAE, in 2010, he moved back to Colombo and held several Sales and Marketing positions at Galle Face Hotel, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo and Browns Hotels & Resorts.
Expressing his views, Imran Noordeen commented, “I am excited about the new opportunity that awaits me as the Director of Sales at Courtyard by Marriott Colombo. I have been a part of this wonderful Marriott Family for over 5 years and it has been a very rewarding journey so far. I will be tapping into my extensive experience of over 16 years in the industry to meet the challenges of my new position. As Courtyard by Marriott Colombo is a very new hotel in the city of Colombo, we need to position the brand well to make inroads into the market. With tourism gradually picking up in the past few months, we are looking forward to showing our travelers and guests what the Courtyard experience is all about.”
In 2017, Noordeen began his journey with Marriott International as Sales Manager at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa, where his outstanding performance in the role saw him being promoted as the Associate Director of Sales in 2019. He has been a part of the Marriott Family for over 5 years and has been entrusted with the chance to lead the sales team of the Courtyard by Marriott Colombo, the first Courtyard flagship hotel in Sri Lanka.
During his time at Marriott, Noordeen has been responsible for supporting both proactive and reactive sales for properties. His new position will see him taking on a further leadership role, leading a talented young team as well as strategically assisting with the marketing roadmap for the hotel. His primary objective is positioning Sri Lanka’s first Courtyard by Marriott, which opened recently, firmly in the commercial capital of the country. He will be demonstrating Marriott’s strong brand presence by identifying, developing, managing, and communicating business segment strategies as Courtyard by Marriott Colombo establishes itself as a world-class hotel that empowers its guests and serves the needs of travelers from across the globe.
