Expert members of the Astronomical Society of the Colombo University, who also joined hands in support of this initiative, guided the children through a series of interactive sessions and observation activities, making it an unforgettable experience.
The night’s activities were thoughtfully designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of astronomy. The children were introduced to the fundamentals of astronomy, followed by a fascinating demonstration showcasing the functioning of telescopes. A planetarium session allowed them to observe celestial objects and engage in an interactive question-and-answer session. Furthermore, an intriguing presentation on topics such as extraterrestrial life, ufology, the solar system, and the moon expanded their knowledge. The event concluded with an inspiring stargazing experience, accompanied by an engaging discussion on identifying constellations.
The success of Astro Night was evident from the overwhelming response received from both parents and children who attended the event.
