Thousands of kids at Commercial Bank’s commemoration of World Children’s Day
Unbridled fun befitting children was in ample evidence when Commercial Bank partnered with ITN to celebrate World Children’s Day this year by treating more than2,000 little Sri Lankans to a special event at the Leisure World theme park in Hanwellaon 1st October.
Supported by Commercial Bank’s signature Children’s Savings Account ‘Arunalu,’the eventcomprised of many interactive games and special Arunalu sponsoredactivities such asart competitions, dartscompetitions and games.All participating children were presented with attractive Arunalu branded gifts.
Arunalu, which constantly recognises excellence in education and supports budding young local talent, rewarded the best contestants of the singing competition with cash prizesof Rs. 10,000 each.In addition, Arunalu rewardedseven outstanding young peoplewith valuable educational materials during the opening ceremony, for their special inventions, heroic acts and special contributionsto society.
Special events were also conducted for the mothers of the children by ‘Anagi’ – the exclusive Women’s Savings Account of Commercial Bank.More than 2,000 ladies who participated in these events received valuable Anagi branded gifts.
This was the fourth consecutive year that Commercial Bank’s Arunalu Children’s Savings Account sponsored this grand annual event.

The Arunalu account has established the largest year 5 Scholarship cash prize scheme in the country with an educational support scholarship scheme for children who are placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the country each year, until they are 18 years of age. Furthermore, the Arunalu Children’s Savings Account presents attractive cash prizes annually to account holders who are the top scorers at the Year 5 scholarship examination in every school while District winners holding ‘Arunalu’ accounts aregiven a cash price of Rs. 50,000.
‘Arunalu’ accounts can be opened for children below 18 years of age at any of Commercial Bank’s branches island-wide.
