Royal College Rugby Season 2023 Kicks Off
Royal College, Colombo kicks off the Inter-Schools Rugby Tournament to an exciting start with the first match being scheduled to take place on 17th of June 2023.
The much anticipated inter-schools’ under 19 Rugby Tournament is only a few days away and all the schools are geared up to put on a gripping show for all fans, both locally and internationally.
For the first round of the tournament, Royal College will host 4 home games – including the 2nd leg of the 77th Bradby Shield Encounter played against Trinity College, Kandy. The other traditional trophy games against schools such as S.Thomas’s and Isipathana will be played once the first round of games are concluded.

Randul Senanayake and Thivain Perera have been appointed as the Royal College Captain and Vice-Captain respectively.
Dushanth Lewke has been re-appointed as Head Coach. Following a successful stint as the Royal College Under-18 Head Coach, Lewke was appointed as the Assistant Coach of Royal College’s first XV team in 2013. In 2018, he was the Head Coach and since his appointment, Royal College has been crowned league champions in 2018 and 2019.
Organised by the Rugby Match Organising Committee of Royal College, an overwhelming audience of over 15,000 spectators are expected to attend the Bradby Shield Encounter this year.
