99x and SLIIT CODEFEST celebrates successful four-year partnership
Sri Lanka’s leading technology company 99x partnered with ‘SLIIT CODEFEST 2022’ hosted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), as a technical partner for the fourth consecutive year. The company took its partnership to the next level by supporting the university in shortlisting the best teams and guiding and mentoring the selected teams. Adding more significance to the partnership, Samudra Kanankearachchi, who is a solutions Architect at 99x, graced the event as the chief guest.
As Sri Lanka’s leading degree awarding institute in the field of Information Technology (IT), SLIIT has been organizing CODEFEST for the last 12 years to elevate Sri Lanka’s IT knowledge to achieve the nation’s aspiration of being the knowledge hub in Asia. Organized through the university’s Computing Faculty, along with the Ministry of Education’s collaboration, CODEFEST has become a popular nationwide hackathon for software engineers across the island.
Over the last four years, 99x has been actively engaged with CODEFEST to identify outstanding tech talent and helping many innovators across Sri Lanka to bring their ideas to life. As a responsible industry player, 99x understands the importance of nurturing IT skills among Sri Lankans, especially the youth. In such a context, 99x has played an integral part in this competition by mentoring and coaching individuals while helping unearth great ideas.

As part of the competition, Kavinda Senarathne, Tharindu Yasantha, Naditha Deeyakaduwe, and Malinda Ranasinghe from 99x took part as panelists to shortlist the most outstanding teams at CODEFEST 2022. They later engaged with these teams to mentor and guide them by sharing their expert insights.
