Samsung SL signs MoA with Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training to set up Samsung Technical Lab
Samsung Electronics in Sri Lanka has signed a Memorandum of Association (MoA) with the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training, to set up a state-of-the-art Samsung Technical Lab. The MoA was signed by Mr. Youngmin Shin, Managing Director of Samsung in Sri Lanka and Dr. Lionel Pinto, Chairman/CEO of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka. The first lab will be located at the Vocational Training Authority,BandaranayakeMawatha, Veyangoda and thereafter, other training centres will be established.
The Samsung Technical Lab will provide a comprehensive training programme, which will benefit students of the Vocational Training Authority who are enrolled in government approved technical courses. The lab will enable students to gain additional skills and knowledge and a special programme focused on the consumer electronics industry, will be offered by Samsung. Samsung’s experienced technicians willprovide students with an in-depth training on how to repair and maintain refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, air conditioners, audio visual appliances, TVs, mobile devices and other electronics. The skills that the students acquire, will give them the theoretical and practical foundation needed to find a variety of employment opportunities in the consumer electronics industry.
